First State Accounting™ runs on Unix and Linux systems only. Although filePro is a cross-platform data base, our system requires the Unix file structure and commands to perform some of it's functions.
However, if you have a Windows, NT, or Novell network in place, never fear, just drop a Unix box in place, plug it into the existing network, add a terminal emulator to the PCs, and all of your users are on line with accounting. It integrates seamlessly.
In addition to the First State Accounting modules, you may need other items that will add to the cost of a working system. In order for this system to function optimally, you will need the following if you don't already have them:

If you do not intend to write your own reports or enhancements to the FSA modules, all you need is the run-time license.

SCO UNIX PRICES FOR OPEN SERVER 5.0.6
This is the operating system that runs on your Intel based PC server. Our system will run on versions as low as 5.0.2, but it is recommended that you upgrade to the latest version 5.0.6.

The "Host" system has no networking capabilities, but you can still hook dumb terminals to it or PCs running terminal emulation software.

PRICES FOR ANITA AND FUSION95
Anita is the terminal emulation program that you load onto your PC in order to access the UNIX server. It is self-installing and takes about 5 to 10 minutes to install on each PC.
Fusion95 is the program that you load onto your UNIX server to allow it to show up on your "Network Neighborhood". The UNIX hard drive is seen as another drive on your PCs so you can save your PC data (word processing, spreadsheets, etc.) safely on the UNIX server.
